Senior Pastor, St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels is a servant of God, preacher, teacher, evangelist, and missions advocate with a heart for people and a passion for the work of the Kingdom. His ministry is centered on proclaiming the Gospel, teaching the Word of God, reaching people through evangelism and missions, and helping individuals and communities experience restoration, transformation, and new life through Jesus Christ.
Born in Tacoma, Washington, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels is a graduate of Pittsburgh Public Schools. From his formative years, he developed a heart for ministry and a particular passion for youth, young adults, and the needs of the community.
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels’ journey in ministry has been shaped by calling, service, preparation, and continued growth. On July 4, 2009, he was licensed to preach the Gospel by Second Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. That initial “yes” to God’s call began a journey of ministry service that has included preaching, teaching, evangelism, missions, youth ministry, young adult ministry, mentoring, and community outreach.
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels served for four years as Elder of Missions and Evangelism at Second Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns. During this season of ministry, he helped oversee local and international mission efforts focused on meeting practical needs and sharing the Gospel. His work included food drives supporting the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Oasis Homeless Shelter, along with initiatives addressing food, health, and shelter needs among individuals and families in impoverished communities throughout the Caribbean and Africa.
Among the initiatives developed during his tenure were Change 4 Missions, the “Bug Off” Malaria Campaign, and the Flip Flop Drive. His evangelism and outreach ministry extended throughout the Hampton Roads area and beyond, including international mission work in villages in Nairobi, Kenya.
These experiences deepened Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels’ conviction that the Church must not only proclaim the Gospel but also demonstrate the love of Christ through compassionate service.
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels has also experienced a significant season of ministry development at Morning Star Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Eugene K. Austin II. During his years at Morning Star, he has served as a Youth Advisor and Associate Minister, while also serving the congregation through preaching, teaching, leadership, and pastoral support.
His ministry at Morning Star has included teaching Bible Study and Sunday School, serving in youth and young adult ministry, mentoring, and providing pastoral leadership when called upon to stand in for the Senior Pastor. His passion for young people remains an important part of his ministry. Through mentoring, encouragement, teaching, and relationship-building, Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels has sought to help young people and young adults recognize their God-given potential and pursue their educational, personal, and spiritual goals.
His ministry experience has also included international missions, ministry-team development, conflict resolution, and helping foster healthy relationships and ministry environments. Through these experiences, God has continued to shape Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels into a minister who believes the Church must reach every generation and extend beyond the walls of the sanctuary.
After years of ministry service and continued preparation, Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels was ordained to the Christian Ministry on January 19, 2025, by Morning Star Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, following the recommendation of a duly called council of pastors.
His ordination marked another significant milestone in a journey that began with his licensing to preach in 2009. For Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels, however, ordination was not the destination. It was another step in answering the call God had placed upon his life.
The call began with a “yes.”
The preparation continues with a “yes.”
And the assignment remains a “yes.”
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels believes that those called to lead God’s people must remain committed to learning, growing, and developing. He is currently attending Andersonville Theological Seminary, where he continues his theological education and preparation for Christian ministry.
His commitment to education reflects his belief that those who serve God’s people never outgrow the need to study God’s Word, deepen their understanding, sharpen their gifts, and become better servants and leaders.
At the center of Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels’ ministry is a deep commitment to missions and evangelism. He believes the Church was never called simply to gather inside its walls.
We are called to go.
We are called to meet people where they are.
We are called to proclaim the Gospel.
We are called to serve those in need.
We are called to reach our communities.
And we are called to help rebuild lives through the love and transforming power of Jesus Christ.
His ministry philosophy is reflected in the words of Jesus found in Luke 4:18–19:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor…”
This Scripture captures the heart of Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels’ ministry: to preach, teach, reach, serve, restore, and help release people into the purposes of God.
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels desires to lead God’s people through the preaching of God’s Holy Word, the teaching of Scripture, the work of evangelism, and the mission to which the Church has been called.
His journey—from being licensed to preach in 2009, through years of ministry and missions, to ordination in 2025, and now into pastoral leadership and continued theological preparation—is a testimony that God’s call is not always fulfilled in one moment.
Sometimes God calls us.
Then He prepares us.
Then He stretches us.
Then He sends us.
...and the journey continues.
As Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church, Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels believes God is leading the church into a new season—a season of renewed faith, deeper discipleship, greater community engagement, missions, evangelism, and Kingdom impact.
Rooted in Faith.
We will grow deeper in our relationship with God, grounded in His Word and strengthened through prayer, worship, and discipleship.
Reaching the Community.
We will take the Gospel beyond the walls of the church and become a visible expression of Christ’s love throughout our community.
Rebuilding Lives.
We will help create pathways toward healing, restoration, spiritual growth, discipleship, and purpose.
Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels is married to the former, Nina C. Hidalgo. Together, they celebrated 25 years of marriage this past July 2026. Together, they are blessed with three sons: Tyrell, Christopher, and Emmanuel. Family remains an important part of Rev. LaTiece L. Daniels’ life and ministry. He believes ministry is not simply about standing behind a pulpit—it is about living out the Gospel through relationships, service, compassion, integrity, and faith.
